How Jesus Reframes Finding Your Purpose

How Jesus Reframes Finding Your Purpose

The world says purpose is about maximizing your potential.

The kingdom says purpose is about fulfilling your assignment.

Jesus fell short of his potential.

By worldly standards, he could have amassed an enormous following and became the GOAT Rabbi in Jerusalem.

Instead, he was a carpenter, had 12 followers, helped the poor and sick, defied traditional authority, and was killed at age 33.

Jesus valued his assignment over his potential.

So should you.

Reframing Purpose:

When you think about your purpose, don't think of it as some grand, ethereal mystery.

Think of it as your present-day assignment that the Lord has entrusted to you.

Finding Your Assignment:

1) Eliminate Distractions and Get Alone with God.

  • Distractions fill your mind with useless voices and silence the only voice that matters.
  • "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God." Matt 4:4

2) Listen & Receive.

  • What has God placed in my realm of responsibility?
  • What character traits is God developing in you right now?

3) Take Massive Action.

  • Orient your life around the assignments He has given you.
  • Run with relentless focus.

The Vital Man way requires that you abandon the world's way of thinking and be renewed in the spirit of your mind.

The King has brought his kingdom and it functions quite different to the world.

We are in pursuit of the kingdom way: to be lead by the Spirit and to be renewed in our thinking in every aspect of life.

Until next time.
